It was just him with three other people in that small space.

 

Two older woman and a young guy.

 

So who could be his mother, he made a guess. And he had very little time to confirm.

 

He moved his hand, a light blinked next the place he was sitting. As the machinery and gravity started their work, he turned around to look at them. A gentle hum surrounded them.

 

 

The young guy nodded at him and went back to his phone. These people and their phones.

 

‘They are playing only his songs for past two days on the FM, have you seen any of his movies?’

 

The women started discussing the news, apparently on of them did not know what was happening. So she must be staying in the hospital, and since she is going out so she isn’t the patient. And the other women started filling her in.

 

‘Even Dev Anand passed away recently isn’t, I love his movies’. 

 

The guy looked up and went back to his phone. Is he playing or messaging someone? He was not even sure that he even listened what was being spoken.

 

And he called his mother – the lady who was staying in the hospital- and asked her about something and as he got the answer all three laughed. He wished he knew the complete story. Well at least his guess was right.

 

 

‘Even Shammi Kapoor or, it was Shammi Kapoor right who too passed away?’ 

 

The guy replied yes, oh finally! someone answered.

 

The women were still talking, their topic had moved on from dead actors to some family gossip. Oh if he only had more details, it would have been fun.

 

Suddenly everything went quite, the doors opened and the three strangers walked away.

 

Few more people entered the space.

 

‘8th floor’ said one of them.

 

As the doors closed and the lift started its ascent, he turned around and asked ‘Did you know Rajesh Khanna passed away two days ago?’
